THE CEILING OF STARS

"The heavens declare the glory of God and the firmament showeth his handiwork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night showeth knowledge."

Overhead arches the ceiling of stars, which should call to mind the canopy of Key 7. The canopy of stars is Nuit, of course, and below the firmament reclines Geb, Lord of the Earth, in this case the magister templum, the master of our temple.

Such an adept can "bind the sweet influences of the Pleiades, loose the bands of Orion, and bring forth Mazaroth in his season."

This is the highest aspiration of the magician, to return in union to the stars from whence he came. Thus the words of the ancient axiom ring true, "I am a child of earth, but my race is of the starry heavens."
